I always say, the best way to start a day is with a good book- which is exactly what we did. We read "Chrysanthemum" by Kevin Henkes, and then measured our own names by writing them down on grid paper and using our Cuisenaire Rods to create as many different combinations of rods that have a length equal to our names! After recess, we had Literacy Centres, followed by phys ed. After lunch, we had Music, where we read "Peter and The Wolf" and listened to some of the music! We then had a very special guest, Mrs. Wood, come in and talk to us about being a writer, and some things that good writer's do! We finished the day by writing about our own "secret places" where we go to feel safe and comfortable (the best spots for writing!)
