We began our day by learning about a new sound chunk-- "ai" and "ay" (e.g. day, say, bay, rain, gain, etc.). We then played "Word Wall Mystery Words" (where the students had to locate the new words I added to the Word Wall). After recess, we had Literacy Centres, followed by phys ed. (where we learned about the pike, straddle, and tuck body shapes!). After lunch, we had Free Centres, we then began our "Math Pita Challenge" by sorting food cards into how we would organize our own "P.O.W Super Market". We finished the day with Ms. Purkiss, who came in and talked to us about the different parts of our brain, and how they react to our emotional state!
