We began our morning by working on our stories! Today, we focussed on the illustrations and title page! After recess, we practiced printing our lower-case letters, especially those we find tricky (like a or k)! We played "Restaurant Wars" in phys ed.! After lunch, we had Music, then had a class brainstorm around what might be causing our bean plants to be wilting after re-potting them. In the end, we discovered that it was because our pots were too small, depriving our plants of their need for space! We then placed them in larger pots, and are interested to see if there will be any changes not that they have more room! We finished our day with a special visit to room 10, where we got to meet Shadow the bunny! Miss Purkiss also led us in a mindful tasting exercise, using our senses to make food taste better!

Book Donations:
The families of Beacon Hill School in Fort McMurray have lost everything. Their principal, Garrett Tebay and her librarian, have asked for our support. They would like to help their families rebuild their home libraries. Prince of Wales can help!! Clean out your bookshelves, order some new books from Scholastic or stop by your local bookstore. Please drop off NEW or Gently Used books at the school. Mrs. Tebay will pick them up when she is in Calgary and deliver them. Thank you for your help!
Please and Thank You / Volunteer Opportunities:
- We would love to have morning reading volunteers to share books with students one-on-one, from 8:30-9:00 any day that it works for you!
1) We would gratefully welcome 4 volunteers to join us on a Suburban Community Tour around our school's neighborhood on Monday, June 6.
2) The grade one Urban Community Tour will be on Tuesday, June 14. This is a while away, but we are hoping for 10-12 volunteers to make it as smooth an experience as possible. It is always a highlight for grade one students and parents, so we hope you can join us!

Our Library day is Thursday, and many of our students have books out that are long overdue! Please remember to bring back any books that have been taken out of the Library for next Thursday (remember, you can renew books you really want to keep reading!). Thank you!
