Can you believe that today was the last day of September? We began our morning with editing our morning message for backwards letters! We then drew pictures on our "Short Vowels" song of things that have short vowel sounds in their name! (e.g. "apple" for "a"). We then practiced our half-moon letters with a "Make, Tell, and Show" session, where we make something out of Playdoh that starts with one of the half-moon letters and give clues to help people guess what it is! After recess, we had Music followed by gym where we played different games of tag! After lunch, we wrote our first monthly writing sample. These will get compiled into a book at the end of the year, and it is amazing to see the grade ones' growth!! We then played some of the math games we learned the other day, and finished our day with a superstorm with Mrs. Morin's class about puzzling!
