- we did more memory boxes.
- In the afternoon we had a fire drill.
- We continued the story Wonder and wrote responses for it.
- this morning when we came in we did some reading
Memory Box:
- Over the next few weeks, each student has been asked to bring in a "memory box" filled with 2-3 special objects that represent themselves (can be pictures, journals, stuffies, etc.).
Tomorrow we have: S.S., M.P., presenting.
Volunteers:
- We love having volunteers come and support our class (during field trips, as well as in the classroom). If you are interested in volunteering this year, please make sure you have an updated Police Security Clearance, as they expire after fives years (so if you got one to volunteer for your child's grade one class, you may need to renew it)! This can be done through the Calgary Police Service, and takes around 2-3 weeks (in general) for the clearances to come through. We look forward to having you in our class!
Mail:
- No new mail today.
Upcoming Dates:
- Sept. 23 -- P.D. Day (no school)
- Sept. 28 -- School Photos
- Sept. 30 -- Terry Fox Run
Daily Challenge:
Today, we solved a math problem involving three people sharing eight cookies ("how many different ways could they share the cookies?")-- and discovered the number was 21. What if there were only two people? How many different ways would there be?
