Highlights of the Day:
Can you believe we have been in school for 100 days? To start off our hundredth day celebrations, we read the poem "100 is a Lot" by Meish Goldish. We then spent our morning putting together a 100 number puzzle and creating "One Hundred" banners (did you know the word "one hundred" has 10 letters? And if you draw 10 things in each letter you will have... 100!). After recess, we wrote in our math journals about what we would buy if we had 100 dollars... In phys ed., we worked up a sweat by doing 100 exercises! After lunch, we had Francais with Mme. Pallesen (don't forget to check out her blog!). We then spent the afternoon doing various 100th day math activities, including: 100 cup stacking, self-portraits of us when we are 100 years-old, race to 100 math games, and a 100 snack piece trail mix bag!
Thank you to everyone who brought in food and egg cartons that allowed us to create such a fun snack!
Please and Thank You / Volunteer Opportunities:
- We would love to have morning reading volunteers to share books with students one-on-one, from 8:30-9:00 any day that it works for you!
- We would very much appreciate volunteers during literacy centers: Tuesday and Thursday from 10:45 - 11:30, and Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 - 9:30. Thanks for considering!
Byblo’s Visit – Feb. 25th
This is for Grade ones and not kindergarten as stated on the calendar.
We will be looking for donations of fillings like, shredded lettuce, slices of/diced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, meats/sausages, shredded cheese, jam, etc. We will be coming up with a more comprehensive list as we talk about healthy foods that can be put in a pita pocket. I do ask that we do not bring in Nutella or peanut butter due to allergy precautions.
Mail Pockets:
- No new notices so mail pockets stayed at school.
- Home Reading bags went home if returned.
Upcoming Dates:
- Mar. 2 – Fun Lunch – Booster Juice
- Mar. 16 – Fun Lunch – Taco Time
- Mar. 18 – PD Day – NO SCHOOL
- Mar. 21-28 – Spring Break – NO SCHOOL
Daily Challenge:
If you were given 100 dollars, what would you spend it on?
