Highlights of the Day:
We began our second last week of school (before Holidays) with our second last "Who Do You Tell" session! After recess, we looked at how artists (like M.C. Esher) use repeated patterns to create interest in their art! We then experimented with creating patterns in our own art works! In phys ed. we practiced our balance and coordination skills by balancing peacock feathers on our fingers, and juggling two scarfs between our hands! After lunch, we brainstormed how to use our knowledge of letter sounds to break-down words and help us "kid spell" them in our writing. We then shared two more stories during "Author's Chair" and continued to write in our journals. We finished the day by reading another chapter in our "Magic Tree House" book!
Idea Lab:
Our Idea Lab is taking shape and we are so very excited to see progress happening daily. We are so excited to get our kids in there and start building, exploring and designing new and innovative things that help solve real-life problems in a creative way. There is a way you can help! On the Idea Lab website,http://powidealab.weebly.com there is a new page that features “Our Wishlist”. This is a spot where you can see what we are in need of to make our Idea Lab a really cool place to learn. Please contact Mme Bergerman if you have any questions about this process or something you’d like to donate. Thanks so much for all you do for us!
