This morning we learned about flagpole letters (letters that begin by drawing a straight line-- l, t, i, j, k)-- and even had some fun practicing writing them in salt! We then had fun playing the math game we learned yesterday, Bump! In gym, we played "Captain's Coming" as well as "Red Elbow". In the afternoon, we had Music with Mrs. Dennill where we learned about pitch (high and low). After Music, we spent the afternoon on an art project-- creating "mini-me's" out of paper!

If you have spare phonebooks at home, please consider sending them in (ideally, two stacked together and wrapped in duct tape, please and thank you!). We use these as a tool for children's seated posture, as many of the students' feet don't yet reach the ground in grade one.

Daily Challenge:
We learned how to print the flagpole family of letters: l, i, t, j, and k. Can you remember the stories to help you teach them to your family? Remember, we always start our letters at the top! Which is your favourite flagpole letter, and why?
