- wear red,
- bring comfortable running shoes,
- and a toonie for Terry if you wish!
I apologize for no blog yesterday-- I was away sick (and am very happy to be back!)
Highlights of the Day:
Today we continued practicing our flagpole letters-- in kinetic sand! We also had some must anticipated library time-- please remember to bring back old library books if you have them! After recess, we had some fun sorting shoes! In gym, we played "Don't Throw You Junk in My Backyard". After Lunch, we have another fun-filled lesson in French with Mme. Pallesen, and finished our day with some catch-up time and centres!
Mail Pockets:
- Milk Program notices (oldest and only, beige paper)
- Scholastic book order forms (all grade ones)
- Who Do You Tell consent form (all grade ones)
Terry Fox Run Tomorrow!
Please wear red to show your spirit if possible (but don't worry if you don't have any red clothing!). You will want comfy shoes for running and walking, and a coat if the weather is chilly. You can bring a toonie for Terry if you'd like to donate, too!
* Parents, please discuss with your child and send a sticky-note with someone's name if there is a particular person they might be running for. All students will get an "I'm Running For..." sticker to wear tomorrow. *
Please and Thank You:
- Please return all school forms, volunteer forms, and coupon book packages (whether ordering or not) at your earliest convenience.
- If you have spare phonebooks at home, please consider sending them in (ideally, two stacked together and wrapped in duct tape, please and thank you!). We use these as a tool for children's seated posture, as many of the students' feet don't yet reach the ground in grade one.
Library Books:
Our class visits the Learning Commons on Thursday mornings. If your child would like to exchange their current book for a new one, please return by Thursday.
Upcoming Dates:
- Sept. 18 – Terry Fox Run
- Sept. 25 – PD Day – NO SCHOOL
- Oct. 7 -- Fish Creek Ridge Walk (2:00 pm)
- Oct. 14 – School Photos
- Oct. 22-23 – Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Oct. 30 – PD Day – NO SCHOOL
- Nov. 25 – Field Trip – Arts Commons
A note from Mme. Pallesen:
Bonjour,
Have you had a chance to check out the Division 1 French blog? You can find it by scrolling down to the very bottom of the student agenda page. Click on the link under Mme Pallesen's photo. Here is the direct link: http://sgpallesen.weebly.com/blog
Each week, Mme Pallesen will summarize what the students are working on, and include links to the songs and activities they have been sharing in class. Don't forget to leave a comment. She loves to read them.
Au revoir!
Daily Challenge:
We really enjoyed sorting our class shoes today! Why is sorting important and useful? What is something you sort, or would like to sort? What attributes could you sort by?
