We started our day by reading poems together out of our poetry books, followed by some "Catch-Up/ Must-Do" time (where we had time to finish any of the projects we still had to do from last day). We then learned about a new set of letters-- half-moon letters! (a, c, d, g, q). After recess, we created our own math "Which One Does Not Belong?" sorts, where we drew three things and had people guess which two were the same, and which one was different. In gym, we had another set of "playstations" for the class to invent activities with! After lunch, we had Music followed by a superstorm with Mrs. Morin's class! We learned a new math game, called "Face Off!", and even played a round against the teachers! We finished the day with some free-centre and reading time!
Mail Pockets:
-No new notices today, so mail pockets stayed at school.
Please and Thank You:
- Fun Lunches begin soon in October! If you are interested in ordering for your child and have not already done so, please visit www.healthyhunger.ca to register and order.
- Please return all school forms, volunteer forms, and coupon book packages (whether ordering or not) at your earliest convenience.
- If you have spare phonebooks at home, please consider sending them in (ideally, two stacked together and wrapped in duct tape, please and thank you!). We use these as a tool for children's seated posture, as many of the students' feet don't yet reach the ground in grade one.

Daily Challenge:
In our Face-Off math game, we practiced comparing numbers as "greater" or "less." What is the greatest amount of something (anything!) you can find at home? What is the least? For example, our classroom has the greatest amount of crayons (six whole bins full!), but the least amount of electric pencil sharpeners (just one!).
