Highlights of the Day:
We began our morning with our new U.S.W time-- for five minutes! We then made get-well cards to send to our classmate who is currently recovering from surgery in the hospital! After recess, we learned the words and dance moves to a new song we will be performing with the other Grade one classes during our Celebration of Learning later this year! After lunch, we had Music, followed by some time to plan-out our community buildings using grid paper!
Student-Led Conferences:
They are being held on Thursday evening and Friday morning. You can book them on-line. Check the Admin blog for further instructions.
Your child will lead you through their current learning and might take you back to the beginning of the year. Plan for 30 minutes before or after your time slot for your child to share.
There is a 15 minute booked time slot with the teacher, but please remember that there will be other students and parents in the classroom at the same time. If you have anything you wish to discuss privately, then please feel free to book another time to meet with the teacher.
Please and Thank You / Volunteer Opportunities:
- We would love to have morning reading volunteers to share books with students one-on-one, from 8:30-9:00 any day that it works for you!
- We would very much appreciate volunteers during literacy centers: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:45 - 11:30, and Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 - 9:30. Thanks for considering!
Library:
Our Library day is on Thursday, and many of our students have books out that are long overdue! Please remember to bring back any books that have been taken out of the Library for next Thursday (remember, you can renew books you really want to keep reading!). Thank you!
Mail Pockets:
- No new mail today.
- Home Reading bags went home if returned.
