Highlights:
Welcome back from another long weekend! This morning, we did some more capital and reading comprehension practice, and talked about the three ways we can make connections with texts (aka books) "Text to Text", "Text to World", and "Text to Self". We also started a new Daily 5 round called "Work on Writing" which we will be practicing for the rest of the week! This afternoon, we had time to work on our wetland's project, as well as learned about place value with decimals (e.g. tenths, hundredths, thousandths).
Mail:
- Pictures (if ordered).
Upcoming Dates:
Homework:
- Reading Response Journals-- do a "connections" response to the book "Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge".
- Capitalization and Reading Comprehension practice (if not finished in class).
- Subtraction Mad Minute-- both sides (if not finished in class).
Coming Up:
- Science Wetlands duo-tangs will be handed in next week! We will discuss and set a formal date at the end of this week!
- Classroom Government Elections-- November 6th is the deadline for your campaign poster and speeches (which will be given that week)-- don't leave writing your speech to the last minute!
Daily Challenge:
What did you learn about decimals today?
