Due to a booking error, our class was not able to go on our field trip today. However, we have had an amazing response from parents (thank you!) and we will be able to go tomorrow!
If you are one of our parent volunteers, could you send me a quick email just to confirm that you are coming tomorrow!
Field Trip Tomorrow! (For real this time!)
Our class is going on an all day field trip tomorrow to the Arts Commons! If you have not sent in your consent forms by tomorrow morning, your child will not be able to come!
Tomorrow, your child will need:
- A packed lunch (with snacks they can eat on the go)
- water bottle – It can come to school empty and then we can fill it up when we get to the Arts Commons
- backpack to carry everything (journal and pencil case)
Parent volunteers:
- Make sure you bring a lunch, snacks, and I will supply you with a journal and pencils
- Please be at the school by 9:15 to find out who is in your group
Highlights of the Day:
We learned how to be flexible today! Sometimes, things don't go the way we think they will, and we had a discussion this morning about how to deal with disappointment and still make the most out of our day! We then did some more Zentangling-- and even created covers for our personal word walls! After recess, we learned the Cat in the Hat's Rainbow Song, and wrote our own versions of it in our visual journals ("red is like a juicy apple, orange is like a bright sunset..."). In phys. ed., we played some more ringette games (working on passing and moving with the ring). After lunch, we continued working on our math puzzle pieces, and even started creating our own puzzles for others to solve! We finished the day with some catch-up/ free-choice time (where most of us decided to continue our Zentangling!)
Drumming Residency Performance:
Unfortunately, due to our field trip being rescheduled for tomorrow, we won't be able to perform tomorrow. We are currently in discussion to find out what happens next. I'll let you know as soon as more information becomes available.
