Today, we finished up our "Everybody Needs a Rock" activity by identifying and reuniting with our rocks (even after they had been all mixed up!) When then started a new novel study called "Trapped in Ice" and wrote in our new "Reading Response" journals! We then had another session of "Read to Partner" and learned about two new way to read together! In the afternoon, we talked about our field trip to Fish Creek tomorrow, as well as discussed the different ways we could sort and organize insects. We finished the day by starting a math pre-assessment, covering subjects from both grade 4 and grade 5.
Walking Field Trip Volunteers!
This Wednesday (September 27), both grade 5 classes will be taking a walking field trip down to Fish Creek Park to explore the wetlands down there. We will be leaving at 11:30AM and will be eating lunch at the pond (please send lunches that are "picnic friendly"!). We will be returning at 2:35PM-- just in time to go home for the day.
We need one more parent volunteer for our class! Please contact me at [email protected] if you are able to come on our trip!
